A White Family History was compiled by Jim and Robert White
We embarked on this journey into ancestry from different directions.
My brother, Robert White, was particularly interested in the stories of John Bray and John Hands Paine, whereas my starting point was the Cornish-born John Edwards Bray.
Living in Sydney, Robert was well placed to research John and Mary Bray, who arrived in Sydney in 1790. They are synonymous with the suburb of Concord, where they took up a farm in 1794.
Rob also had access to the magnificent Mitchell Library, where he could also trace the Paine family, who settled in the state border town of Albury around 1860.
